Waypoint Legal Consultancy was founded by Evelina Petravičiūtė, a senior lawyer and strategic advisor supporting organisations operating at the forefront of life sciences, digital health, clinical AI, genomics, and health-data governance in the UAE.

Evelina read law at the University of Oxford before training at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London, where she worked on complex, high value matters requiring rigorous execution, stakeholder management and careful risk allocation. She went on to practise at leading international firms including Shearman & Sterling (now A&O Shearman) and King & Spalding, advising on multi-million dollar, cross border transactions. This experience now underpins Waypoint’s approach: technically robust, commercially pragmatic and designed for real world execution.

Guided by her passion for innovation and how emerging technologies move from concept to impact, Evelina transitioned into the UAE’s applied research ecosystem. At the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi, she served as the lead lawyer supporting advanced R&D across biotech, AI, and autonomous robotics, advising on the frameworks that make research deployable, such as collaboration structures, IP strategy, data governance, ethical considerations and translation into products and partnerships. Most recently, Evelina held senior roles at M42, advising across the full lifecycle of healthcare innovation. Her experience includes supporting landmark national initiatives such as the Emirati Genome Programme, as well as navigating the operational realities of delivering solutions into live healthcare environments.

For Evelina, this work is deeply personal. She cares about the future of healthcare and believes the legal function should enable responsible innovation.
